Introduction
Snickers candy bar was is a chocolate bar made by Mars, incorporated. The candy bar is made of nougat topped with caramel and peanuts coated in a delicious layer of milk chocolate. The ad campaign You're Not You When You're Hungry launched in 2010 and it is still continuing today. The campaign is focused mainly on males turning into prissy females when they are hungry. We all have moments when we are not feeling ourselves we can become irritable, whiny, and bad tempered. We would blame those feelings on hunger. The Snickers ad campaign did this by making it the solution stating that eating one of their delicious chocolate bars will keep you on top of your game when you need it the most.

The Snickers ad campaign You're Not You When You're Hungry was created by the advertising agency AMV BBDO/BBDO New York with contributing agencies of BBDO Dusseldorf,
Graffiti BBDO, Impact BBDO.  Snickers goal was to own the moments, when hunger changes you so that every time someone is not feeling like themselves they would reach for a Snickers candy bar to make them their selves again and stop the crazy behaviors that they do not normally do.

The Audience
Snickers audience is massive. The commercials aren’t based on any certain race gender ethnicity or age. They appeal too young children age 5 up too the elderly at age 95. Snickers commercials tend to be funny. Funny commercials tend to be remembered for longer periods of times than a commercial that isn’t funny. People usually will tell their friends about the funny commercials they have seen on TV so the commercial goes viral which helps with the sales of Snickers. They also have appeared in big sporting events such as the Super Bowl. Having their ads played during the Super Bowl is huge for their sales and exposure. Millions of people watch the Super Bowl for many reasons, some watch it to see who wins other watch it for the halftime show and commercials. During the Super Bowl many people are eating finger foods and usually have a sweet tooth after eating Snickers is the perfect candy bar to cure that sweet tooth.

The text

This commercial first aired in 2013. It was made by BBDO advertising for snickers worldwide. This ad is based on the idea that hunger can change who you are as a person. In this ad Betty White is representing a football player Mike who is hungry taking on the meaning of You're Not You When You're Hungry quite literally. Mike is playing terrible barley nudging his rivals with his hands. His teammates are giving him crap about it Mike whines about it. One of the teammates even tell him him he is playing like Betty White out there, Then Mike's girlfriend says have a snickers babe. Better?  After taking a bite of the delicious chocolate bar Betty White turns back into Mike the football player and then replies better.

This ad also aired in 2013. A football team comes to huddle up to get the plays and advice on what to do from their coach played by Robin Williams. Instead of getting advice Robin Williams says we should kill them with kindness telling the players to make balloon animals and little tea cozies. an assistant coach comes up to Robin Williams and tells him to eat a snicker he asks why then the assistant replies because you get a little loopy when your hungry. After Robin Williams takes a bite of the snickers he turns into a middle aged African-American man who then returns to the normal coach and says lets go get them!

This ad takes place on a long road trip with four male young adults with scruffy faces. One of them named Jeff has turned into a diva played by Aretha Franklin complaining that the AC needs to be turned on because she is dying in the back seat another young male says it is on cant you feel it? Aretha Franklin smacks him in the head and says did you feel that. Another young male says Jeff eat a snickers please you turn into a diva when your hungry just eat it so we can all coexist in.. Aretha chimes in mocking ohh a diva. Then they say better? She eats the candy bar and turns back into the young male. The person in the front gets hungry and turns into a diva saying get your knees out of my seat. Snickers used young attractive males to get a wider range of audiences. By using young males and making the ad comical they are getting the attention of the young adult audience and by using well know people such as Liza Minelli and Aretha Franklin they appeal to the older audiences as well.

Conclusion

These ads are using celebrities to make them more appealing to their audience. By using the celebrities such as Betty white and Robin Williams people will be more draw to the commercials. If a celebrity does something it becomes a fad and everyone and their brother wants to be doing the same thing, or be using that exact product.
